To help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Eye Care of Maine has instituted several changes. Most importantly, we have reduced each doctor’s scheduled number of patients to reduce waiting times and reduce the number of patients in our waiting room. We continue to search for ways to increase efficiency to minimize the amount of time you are in our clinic and Ambulatory Surgery Center. Please review the following policies before your visit:
-
All patients and accompanying persons must wear a face mask at all times. Paper surgical masks are required. If you do not have your own mask, one will be provided.
-
Please try to arrive at your appointment time. Patients arriving more than 10 minutes before their appointment time may be asked to wait in their car.
-
We only allow patients with appointments into the building. Please call ahead of time if you need to visit our Eye Care Center.
-
We will call you ahead of time to confirm your appointment, usually the day before. You will be asked a series of COVID-19 related screening questions, which will be repeated at the time of your appointment. You may also receive a pre-appointment phone call to review your medical history and medications, to reduce the amount of time in our office.
-
We have added extra measures to our office to ensure patient and employee safety; we are diligently cleaning and disinfecting all equipment and surfaces.
-
You may bring one support person in to attend your appointment with you. We request that extra friends or family members wait in their car during patient visits.
We thank you for your understanding regarding recent changes designed to protect our patients and staff. As the pandemic evolves you can be assured that we will continue to remain vigilant and proactive. We will all do our best to keep you safe! Please call our office with any questions or concerns.
